About Columbia Sportswear
Founded in 1938, Columbia Sportswear Company has grown from a small family-owned hat distributor to one of the world's largest outerwear brands and the leading seller of ski-wear in the United States. Columbia's extensive product line includes a wide variety of outerwear, sportswear, rugged footwear and accessories. Columbia specializes in developing innovative products that are functional yet stylish and offer great value. Eighty-year-old matriarch Gert Boyle, Chairman of the Board, and her son, Tim Boyle, President and CEO, lead the company.
Columbia's history starts with Gert's parents, Paul and Marie Lamfrom, when they fled Germany in 1937. They bought a small hat distributorship in Portland, Oregon, and named it Columbia Hat Company, after the river bordering the city. Soon frustrated by poor deliveries from suppliers, the Lamfroms decided to start manufacturing products themselves. In 1948, Gert married college sweetheart Neal Boyle, who joined the family business and later took the helm of the growing company. When Neal suddenly died of a heart attack in 1970, Gert enlisted help from Tim, then a college senior. After that, it wasn't long before business really started to take off. Columbia was one of the first companies to make jackets from waterproof/breathable fabric. They introduced the breakthrough technology called the Columbia Interchange System, in which a shell and liner combine for multiple wearing options. In the early 1980s, then 60-year-old Gert began her role as "Mother Boyle" in Columbia's successful and popular advertising campaign.
The company went public in 1998 and moved into a new era as a world leader in the active outdoor apparel industry. Today, Columbia Sportswear employs more than 1,800 people around the world and distributes and sells products in more than 50 countries and to more than 12,000 retailers internationally.

What a fantastic jogging stroller!
What a fantastic stroller! Light, sturdy, spacious, sporty, and extremely well built. I've been on the hunt for several months for a jogging stroller and have had the opportunity to have hands on tryouts of various other jogging strollers (InStep Safari, Schwinn, Jeep Overland, etc.). I also had to narrow my search to my budget of 0. From my research & hands on comparisons, I can confidently say that the Columbia jogging stroller is the best in this category.
Let me tell you what I didn't like about the other strollers. The Safari InStep is nice looking and sells for a low price but is small, very cumbersome (as were all of these) even in its folded position, and had many cheap plastic parts. The Schwinn was rather small as well and had a lot of parts made of plastic. The Jeep Overland is very attractive but lacks a swivel on its front wheel, which makes it very impractical in many situations. It is also heavy and very bulky even in its broken down position.
The Columbia jogging stroller is far better. I've taken it jogging on sidewalks, paved streets, running tracks, sand & rocky streets, and even on grass and dirt. It was extremely easy to push on all these surfaces and had a very stable ride due to good suspension and construction.
Here are more pros:
- Large and ample for larger or older kids.
- All light metal construction for durability.
- Tons of pockets inside (for the child) and outside for the parent (1 large underneath).
- A very encompassing hood with a window so you can look at your child.
- It folds down very compactly (much more than all the others) so you can put it in your back seat. You can further break it down by removing the wheels with a pull of a lever and make it even more compact. Did I mention it's very light?
- The ride is excellent and you can lock the front wheel for off roading.
- It has an adjustable backrest from almost vertical to almost laying down positions.
- Adjustable handlebar for taller or shorter people.
- Very easy to assemble, fold, and break down.
- The look was very appealing to me. Sporty and an equally appealing look for men and woman.
Cons:
- It could have more reflectors for evening and nighttime.
- The restraints should be padded.
- And a completely vertically adjustable backrest would have been better.
Plus:
- I read the complaint about the jogger not having a tray for the child but I think that if you were using the jogger for outdoor exercise, it would make no sense to have one because everything would fall off. The interior pockets work just fine for a bottle or anything else you might want to leave your child with. Plus, I don't think it's safe for a child to be eating and drinking while you're running.
So, in conclusion, I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it adamantly. It is the best in its class and price range. I hope more photos are posted that give a better view of the storage and the compactness of the stroller when folded so people can better appreciate its design. And if you're on the fence, if you purchase this stroller, I think that you'll be very pleased with it.
UPDATE: We took the stroller to the beach. No stroller is easy to move on beach sand but in comparison to others I've tried on the beach (Jeep, Graco), it was much easier. TIP - walk it on the wet part of the beach. It's easier to push, the sand is more compact:)

So far, so good
I bought this stroller for my 1 year old and to keep up with my 4 year old while she rode her bike. So far, so good. I wanted one with room to grow and this one certainly fits the bill. It is HUGE! It does fold nicely, as small as my Graco mid size stroller (which I do not like at all). There is no parent or child tray but all the cubby spaces to put things make up for it. It is easy to push with both the wheel locked and unlocked. Good sunshade. It can be unvelcroed from the back and pushed very far forward. I wish it did not fold so the parts the child is in hits the ground, but that is minor. I like it so far.

Great Stroller, Easy to Handle
This sporty jogger by Columbia is very nice. Its very easy to handle especially with the swivel wheel and not to mention light weight and easy to fold and carry. My son weighs about 47 pounds (4 almost 5 yrs old) and he fits in it just fine. I plan to use this with my third child that is going to be born this December and i know this stroller will last throughout the years. Very durable.
It has two large spaces for bottles of water of any size. And a nice sized zippered pocket for keys and cell phones and things. The bag underneath has a drawstring closure that can easily hold a purse or small- medium sized diaper bag. I love Columbia. :)

Columbia FunRun Jogging Stroller
I just bought the single Columbia FunRun from Sports Authority. I have not read many reviews for Columbia strollers, but so far I REALLY like mine.
Reasons for selecting:
Size - I have a taller than average 2 year old and many jogging strollers were already too small for her height...she's about 36 in. and 30 lbs. (Jeep, Baby Trend, Kelty etc all did not have enough head room)
Price - at around 0, it seemed like a good deal
Found locally and could test in store with 2 year old in it. It is easy to push.
The front wheel can swivel or be locked.
Good canopy coverage
Lots of pockets and storage. THIS ONE CAN HOLD 2 WATER BOTTLES!!! I read lots of reviews for strollers the complain about different strollers not being able to hold water bottle(s) in parents tray. This one has 2 "sleeves" on the back side (facing the pusher) that hold standard water bottles (but probably not HUGE Nalgene type bottles). Also tons of other storage!!
Cons:
No childs tray
Very big, but that's pretty much the same for any jogging stroller.
I did not even try the BOB, I really didn't want to spend that much money. I wanted to try the Schwinn strollers because they had pretty good reviews and priced in my range, but did not find any locally.

An excellent value
This stroller is amazing, but huge, so it's really for use outdoors.
The design is of the highest quality. Very rugged and practical. It folds easily and compactly. It's super maneuverable, turns on a dime. The harness holds my one-year-old nicely, but he'll easily fit in the seat for years to come. Lots of compartments for nick-nacks and a decent drawstring bag at the bottom would hold a gallon of milk. There are even pockets in the stroller for my son's toys! There's a reflective strip across the top and the material is very nice. Very classy look. I plan to use this for any walks we go on, trips to parks, etc.
The only thing I don't like is that the seat doesn't go complete vertical, so my son tries to sit forward. But once we're moving, he sits back and enjoys the ride. And if he fell asleep, the seat can be adjusted for him to be almost lying down.
I totally recommend this stroller, and I got it for with free shipping, so the price was exceptional.
